Rev. Billy Ray Moore was born on Friday, July 14, 1933, son of the late Alvin Moore and Lula Mae Chaney Pulley. Rev. Moore died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 75 years 11 months and 6 days. He was born in Trumann and had lived in Black Oak, Ark., before moving back to Trumann four years ago. He was a retired minister and a member of the First Assembly of God in Trumann. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by one sister; two step-sisters; one half-brother and his parents. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Emma Jean Fortson Moore of the home; two daughters, Dorothy and Frank Davidson and Kathy and Mike Ashford both of Jonesboro; three sons, Bill Moore of Ft. Smith, Ark., James and Shirley Moore of Springfield, Mo., and Danny Moore of Jonesboro.; one sister, Betty Jean Chappell of Naples, Fla., two step-sisters, Ruthie Ann Faulks of Panama City, Fla., and Betty Mott of Michigan., three half-brothers, Jerry Moore of Blytheville, Bobby Joe Moore and Tommy Moore both of Caruthersville, Mo., and one step-brother, James Fields of Caruthersville, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God in Trumann with Rev

    What a wonderful man Mr. Billy was, we at Jonesboro Sewing have lost part of "us" we loved him so much and miss him already. But, we know he is where he wants to be and that is in the presents of his Lord, whom he allowed to show in his everyday life. He made our job easier just by being "Billy".     Billy and I worked together when he was the service manager and I was the secretary at Electrolux in Jonesboro. In fact, he introduced me to "Moon Pies" as a snack when we had our afternoon break. One day when he came back from UPS he said "I have something special for our break" It was "Moon Pie". I suppose you have to grow up eating them, because I never developed a taste for them!!!! He was a caring person and loved his family. He will be missed. Love to EmmaJean and the family.
