Geneva Baine Leggett
July 26, 1926 - June 23, 2009

Mrs. Geneva Baine Leggett of Jonesboro was born on Monday, July 26, 1926, daughter of the late Robert Larry and Lille London Castleberry Baine. She went to be with our Lord on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 82 years 10 months and 28 days. Mrs. Leggett was born in Tyronza, Ark., and had lived in Jonesboro for the past 27 years and was formerly of Trumann. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Birch Street Church of God in Trumann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Leggett in 1988; one daughter, Norma Jean Meredith and one stillborn daughter; three sisters; three brothers; and her parents. Survivors include one daughter, Jimmy Sue Leggett of Trumann; one son, Coy Mason Leggett of Bono; one sister, Edna Busby of Trumann; six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Don Simpson and Bro. David Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro. Pallbearers will be J. L. Hudgen, Jonathan Webb, Shortie Jones, Josh Jones, Jeremy Leggett and Don Meredith. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Meredith and Raymond Langdon. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
