  7. Charles & Libby Smith, Jonesboro, AR says

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the first time I met Mary Lou, it was at a funeral and my Uncle Porter (Richardson) was there with Ella. I went up and hugged his neck. Here comes Mary Lou "Uncle Porter." I freaked out because I thought "Oh God, Charles and I are related (it was through Ella, thank God)!" Mary Lou had such a wild sense of humor! Lots of times when we would see her I'd be laughing so hard thinking "I can't believe she said that!"The last time I saw her she told me she had been sick. I wish we had known she was in the hospital and we would have been able to see her. I (Libby) am somewhat shy and there are not a lot of people I take to instantly, but Mary Lou was one of those people. She made me feel welcome, a real member of the family, well, according to her most of the family-the others didn't count!Right now I can see her in heaven with Earl, Grandpa, Grandma, all the others, sitting around laughing at the big "to do" going on. I can see them with that "I can't believe she said that" look as well, with Jesus shaking his head and grinning "heaven will never be the same!"God Bless you all and Mary Lou, I know you can hear me-you will be missed!

  19. Tammy Medley Collier, Lake City, AR says

Lorie and Sherry, You both were so lucky to have such a wonderful, fun-loving mother. I remember her from my childhood, when she worked for my grandparents (Foster and Mable Miller) at the Dairy Bar. I also remember her running around with my Aunt Linda. My last memories of her are the time she spent with my family after my mother died and how she would meet with my dad (Bill Medley)and Linda every Friday at Main Street Cafe to eat fish and how much fun she always had. Your mom would get to the cafe early so she could get there table (which was in the front section in the center back). This was so she and Linda could see everyone who came in. She was a joy to visit with and was always smiling and laughing. Mary will be missed by so many, but everyone will remember her smile. There is nothing I can say or do to make this any easier. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Laugh, cry, remember the good times and start all over again. This will help as time passes.
