Ellen Ruthie Qualls
March 30, 1933 - September 16, 2009

Mrs. Ellen Ruthie Qualls was born on Thursday, March 30, 1933, daughter of the late Horace and Velma Secrease Barnett. Mrs. Qualls died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the family residence in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 76 years 5 months and 17 days. She was born in Salem, Ark., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Qualls was preceded in death by two sisters, a great-grandchild, Madison Wilson, and her parents. Survivors include her husband, Ottie Gene Qualls of the home; four daughters, Shirley Vaughn and Penny Maxwell, both of Trumann; Peggy Byram of Jonesboro and Janet Blancett of Lake City; one sister, Belle Spaulding of Trumann; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral home in Trumann with Revs. Bill Maxwell and Bobby Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers will be Jim Baker, Chris Holmes, Dan Holmes, Ronnie Cravens, Billy Baker and Larry Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Jenkins, Tommy Holmes, James Evans, Tim Austin, Russell Cravens and Brandon Wright. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
