Helen Beatrice Corter
November 6, 1935 - September 19, 2009

TRUMANN - Mrs. Helen B. Corter 73, of Trumann Ark., died Saturday, September 19 , 2009, at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born in Sulphur Rock, AR., and had lived in the Trumann area most of her life. Mrs. Corter was retired from the Singer plant in Trumann and was a member of the First General Baptist Church and loved playing bingo. Mrs. Corter was preceded in death by her husband, James Corter; one granddaughter, Helen Michelle Corter, one brother, Bud Cannon; and her parents, Otis Charles and Ruby Jewel Goddair Cannon. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Corter of the home, Carolyn Toddy of Trumann and Christina Bell of Southaven, MS; one son, Dale Corter of Cherokee Village, AR; one sister, Doris Corter, of Black Oak, AR; Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial will be at the Monette Cemetery at Monette, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Anthony Weaver, Steve Elumbaugh, Alan Slayton, Ricky Toddy, Durrell Newell and Dennis Slayton Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.     To the Corter family: I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. I can see now where you kids got your good looks from! What a lovely lady. My dad, Dale Harvison, was also born in Sulphur Rock--but may have left there by the time your mom was born. My sincerest prayers go out to you. May God give you strength during this difficult time.

    So sorry for the loss you are feeling today and in the future Helen and I were pals growing up and always injoyed talking about our childhood and some of the silly things we did But God has chosen her to brighten the portals of Heaven and giveing us one more reason to make Heaven our home I pray you let God comfort you now and in the days ahead

    Dale, Darlene, Caroline,Jamie, and all of the rest of the Grandkids, that have lost their Mother , Grandmother, or Greatgrandmother. you have our deepest sympany. I know that she was the rock in your family and that her passing is s shock for all of you. But just know that she will be watching from heaven to be sure everything is being done on earth just as she wanted it to. You know that will happen!she was such a unique individual.
