Helen Beatrice Corter
November 6, 1935 - September 19, 2009

TRUMANN - Mrs. Helen B. Corter 73, of Trumann Ark., died Saturday, September 19 , 2009, at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born in Sulphur Rock, AR., and had lived in the Trumann area most of her life. Mrs. Corter was retired from the Singer plant in Trumann and was a member of the First General Baptist Church and loved playing bingo. Mrs. Corter was preceded in death by her husband, James Corter; one granddaughter, Helen Michelle Corter, one brother, Bud Cannon; and her parents, Otis Charles and Ruby Jewel Goddair Cannon. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Corter of the home, Carolyn Toddy of Trumann and Christina Bell of Southaven, MS; one son, Dale Corter of Cherokee Village, AR; one sister, Doris Corter, of Black Oak, AR; Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial will be at the Monette Cemetery at Monette, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Anthony Weaver, Steve Elumbaugh, Alan Slayton, Ricky Toddy, Durrell Newell and Dennis Slayton Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
