Charles Oris Clanton, Jr.

Mr. Charles Oris Clanton, Jr. was born on Friday, August 26, 1955, son of the late Charles Oris Clanton, Sr. and Patricia Tyler Clanton. Mr. Clanton died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN, at the age of 54 years 2 months and 15 days. He was born in Jonesboro, AR., and lived in Lake City for the past two years moving from Memphis. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Clanton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah and Hattie Hale, Oscar and Mami Clanton, one niece, Samantha Leanne Dunn, and his father. Survivors include one son, Michael Clanton and wife Mary of Trumann; three daughters, Candra Sifuentes and JR of Cash, Savannah Clanton and Charlsie Clanton both of Jonesboro; his mother, Patricia Clanton of Trumann; one brother, Roger Dale Clanton of San Antonio, TX, four sisters, Melody Wilson and husband Joey, Melinda Linton and husband Allen, Lisa Shubert and husband Jimmy, all of Trumann, and Scarlett Dunn and husband Donnie of Jonesboro, Ark; three grandsons, Chavez, Manuel, and Carlos, one granddaughter, Madisson, four nieces, four nephews, five great nieces, three great nephews, and ex-wife Tammy Clanton. Memorial services will be Friday at noon at the Central Missionary Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Greg Clark officiating. Burial will be private.
