Johnny D. Gipson
July 14, 1938 - June 22, 2010

Mr. Johnny Dale Gipson was born on Thursday, July 14, 1938, son of the late Ralph and Emma Cornwell Gipson. He died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the family residence, at the age of 71 years 11 months and 8 days. He was born in Black Oak, Ark., had lived in Trumann for the past 38 years, and was formerly of Brookland. Mr. Gipson worked in the transportation department for the East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melvita Gipson, daughter, Angela Barker, brother, Ralph James Gipson, and his parents, Ralph Edward and Emma Mae Cornwell Gipson. Survivors include one son, Barry Gipson of Brookland, Ark.; one daughter, Melani Wilson of Trumann; one brother, Jerry Gipson of Monette; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Kyle Barker, Autumn Gipson, and Taylor Wilson; and one great-grandchild, Samantha Gipson. Funeral service will be Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Dr. Jim Shaw officiating. Burial will be private in Monette Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Active pallbearers will be Skip Layne, Mike Cook, Oliver Cook, and Joey Wilson. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
