Sammy K. Davis
July 13, 1949 - February 16, 2011

Mr. Sammy K. Davis was born on Wednesday, July 13, 1949, son of the late Adron and Ada Holmes Davis. He died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 61 years 7 months and 3 days. He was born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann, Ark. Mr. Davis worked on the River Boat, was a Cosmetologist, Purple Heart Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by one brother, Hoil Davis and his parents. Survivors include four brothers, Jerry Davis and Billy Davis both of Trumann, Tommy Davis of Lunsford, Ark., and Jimmy Swinford of Williford, Ark.; one sister, Bobby Griffin of Blytheville, Ark.; 7 nieces and 6 nephews; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, Ark., with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan and Jimmy Swinford officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Active pallbearers will be Vance McDaniel, Steve Goodman, Dan Goodman, Scotty Taylor, Wyatt Kenley, and Steve Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Moon, Jr., Jimmy Banks, Rick Gillet, James Don Bailey, Carbert Rodgers, Kenny Hendrix, Jr. Hendrix, Mike Campbell, Jan Morgan, Buddy Penna, and Keith Swink.
