Donny R. Welch
April 29, 1948 - February 28, 2011

Mr. Donny Ray Welch was born on Thursday, April 29, 1948 son of the late Henry Thomas and Ruby Jewel Scarry Welch. He died on Monday, February 28, 2011 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 62 years 9 months and 30 days. He was born in Weona, Ark., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. Mr. Welch was a retired employee of Speedway Sales, Veteran of U.S. Army, was a Southern Baptist and attended Maple Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Welch Nelson, four brothers, and his parents. Survivors include two brothers, Bill Welch and wife Linda of West Memphis and Jim Welch of Trumann; three sisters, Martha Holcomb and Carol Green both of Trumann and Brenda Lowery of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Dr. Jim Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark. Active pallbearers will be Topper Lowery, Jeff Lowery, Bryan Lowery, Kelly Walters, Charlie Birdno, and John Derek Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Daniels, Gaylon Brooks, Gary Bell, Earl Holley, Duane Horn, and Johnny Whitlatch.
