Jonesboro, ArkansasMonday, November 28, 2011Mr. Delvin B HarlanTRUMANN - Mr. Delvin B. Harlan, 94 of Trumann died Sunday Morning November 27, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born in Mt. Vernon, AR to the late Golden Kye Harlan and Hattie (Breeding). Mr. Harlan was a World War II veteran and had received a Purple Heart during his tour of duty. Mr. Harlan was retired from Harlan Farms where he was the owner operator. He was a Charter member of the First General Baptist Church of Trumann where he had served as a Deacon for over 60 years. He was a member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge and he was passionate about fishing. Mr. Harlan loved his church family and his friends from St. Bernards Village and enjoyed the time he spent visiting with them and others. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita (Robertson) Harlan, parents, and two sisters, Geraldine Eads and Eddie Faye Eads. Survivors include one daughter Charlotte Ann Harlan of Jonesboro; one son, Gary Don Harlan of Jonesboro; four grandchildren Holly and Justin Harlan, Melanie Goodwin and Dana Bingham; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Qualls of Kansas City, MO, Erma Jean Wood of Pine Bluff, AR; and one brother, KG Harlan of Jonesboro. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church of Trumann, with Bro. Darrel Miller and Bro. Joey Ruppard officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Pallbearers will be Justin Harlan, Trevor Blasingame, Tyler Goodwin, Cole and Paul Bingham, Danny Harlan, Michael Clem, and Wally Bradsher. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Jones, Eugene Richardson, Shorty Hargrove, James Pagan, Bud Bingham, C.A. Jones, and Herman Robertson.Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home. The family asks that those who would like to make donations in memory of Mr. Harlan please consider the First General Baptist Church in Trumann, and Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.     Dear Family,I wanted to express my deepest sympathy and concern for you and share with you that fulfillment of Bible prophecies shows that we are living in the ”last days.” (2Timothy 3:1-5); (Matthew 24: 1-14) Although as a result, things are very bad all over the globe, it also means that very soon, the Sovereign of the Universe, Jehovah God, will intervene in human’s affairs to wipe out wickedness once and for all along with all the problems we face today, which include death. (Psalms 37: 9-11); (John 5: 28 and 29); (Revelation 21: 3 and 4) We can have confidence in these astounding promises because Jesus, who has been appointed by God to soon rule or govern the entire earth as King of God’s Heavenly Kingdom or Government, demonstrated that bringing the dead back to life is guaranteed when he resurrected many including his friend Lazarus when he was on earth. (Daniel 2:44); (Daniel 7: 13. 14); (Isaiah 9:6, 7); (John 11). So as you await the fulfillment of the resurrection promise along with the countless of blessings God’s Kingdom will pour on earth to make it a paradise where righteous ones will live forever and enjoy with their resurrected loved ones, please take in accurate knowledge, which Jesus said means everlasting life, by studying the Bible for FREE with the Jehovah’s Witnesses (John 17:3); (John 5:39)May you be comforted by the cited Scriptures, which give us hope for a brighter future in God's upcoming new world!

    I am so sorry for your loss. May "the God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort and soothe your heart. His promises, found in the Holy Scriptures, can offer much hope. It assures us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will be remembered and brought back to life in the resurrection.     Dear Gary, Charlotte and Family:We were so sorry to hear about the loss of dad's best fishing buddy. Dad passed away two years ago almost to the day and so we know how sad this loss is for both of you. It seems only a few years ago that we were all just youngsters and our parents were so full of life. But time passes and we will someday get to enjoy their presence again.May God bless you all and give you peace and comfort.
