Frank McElyea
October 8, 1935 - December 29, 2011

Mr. W. Frank McElyea of Trumann, was born on Tuesday, October 8, 1935. son of the late James Walter and Grace Cherry McElyea. He died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the family residence in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 76 years 2 Months and 21 Days. Mr. McElyea was born in Mississippi County, Ark., and had lived in Trumann since 1959 coming from Weona. He was retired from the former Singer Company and Delta Wood and a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters and his parents. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Lancaster McElyea of the home; one daughter, Karen Wallace of Trumann; one son, Keith McElyea of Trumann, two brothers, Oscar McElyea of Marion, Ark., and Robert McElyea of Hardy; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann with Rev. Ricky Forbis officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, AR., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Pallbearers will be Darrel Rains, John Forbis, Gary Holmes, Mike Freeman, Kevin Beaumont and Junior Chaffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Banks, Red Forbis, Daniel Herod, Daniel Reithbaum, Buster Presley, James Freeman and William Long. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann, Ark. An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    I was sadden to hear of Mr. Franks passing. I lived down the road on Sandbar from him for about 14 yrs. He was always so nice to my family and myself. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
