Mr. Russell E. Crider of Marvell died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro Ark., at the age of 85 years 3 months and 28 days. He was born in Whitehall, Ark. on Saturday, December 18, 1926, to the late Henry Willie and Etta Mae Williams Crider. Mr. Crider had lived in Marvell for the past 10 years and was formerly of Palestine, Ark. He was a retired factory worker for the Sanyo Corp., veteran of the U.S. Navy and World War II and a member of the Marvell Baptist Church. Mr. Crider was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Burke Crider of the home; two daughters, Brenda McGowan and Beverly Bass both of Palestine, one son, Ronnie Crider of Holly Grove, two step-daughters and two step-sons; one brother, Buell Crider of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Beckspur Baptist Church in Forrest City, Ark., with Rev. J.E. Hughes and Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Bell Cemetery in Palestine, Ark., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Pallbearers will be Brandon McGowan, Jason Bass, Shane Crider, Michael McGowan, Andy Anderson, Bear Lacefield Derrick Tacker and Brad Cummings. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 until 8 p.m. at the Beckspur Baptist Church in Palestine, Ark. An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
