Larry Thomas Tibbs, Sr.
August 19, 1939 - April 22, 2012

Mr. Larry Thomas Tibbs Sr. of Bay died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 72 years 8 months and 3 days. Mr. Tibbs was born on Saturday, August 19, 1939 in Malden, Missouri to the late Luther and Lilly Stevens Tibbs. Mr. Tibbs had lived in Bay for the past five years and was formerly of Jonesboro. He owned and operated an auto frame shop and was a Vietnam War Veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann. Mr. Tibbs was preceded in death by one step-daughter Linettte Bradsher; one brother Grady Tibbs and his parents. Survivors include his wife Brenda Bradsher Tibbs of the home, one son Larry Thomas Tibbs, Jr. of Jonesboro, one daughter Chennelle Tibbs of Jonesboro, two brothers Jim Tibbs and wife Joanne of and Jerry Tibbs and wife Paula both of Jonesboro; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers will be Brian Tibbs, Wesley Tibbs, Mike Tibbs, Daniel Tibbs, Blake Tibbs and Bill Wagner. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mike Beeson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 Noon - 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    Getting to know Larry during the last few months has been such a blessing. There were times when I know he was in pain but he always smiled and encouraged everyone around him. Sundays just haven't been the same without his sunny smile. Larry is our loss but heaven's gain. We loved him. His life was a testimony of God's love and mercy.
