Wanda Stotts Stephens
November 17, 1950 - May 15, 2012

Mrs. Wanda Stotts Stephens of Trumann, died Tuesday May 15, 2012 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark. at the age of 61 years 5 months and 28 days. She was born Friday, November 17, 1950 in Jonesboro, Ark. to the late Omer H. and Clara Lucille Chambliss Stotts Mrs. Stephens had lived most of her lifetime in the Trumann and Jonesboro area. She was a retired school teacher for Trumann High School and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Stephens in 2007, her parents, and her step-father, J. W. Heathcock. Survivors include two sons, John Tull of Jonesboro and Spencer Tull (Tiffany) of Jonesboro; step-daughter, Corie Swarts (David) of Mira Loma, CA; one step-son, Chad Stephens (Chris) of Nuevo, CA; one sister, Barbara Hoelscher (Jack) of Memphis; two brothers, Bobby Stotts (Bonnie) and Jimmy Stotts (Mickey) both of Trumann and one granddaughter, Isabella Claire Tull. Funeral service will be Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stotts Jr., Rodney Stotts, Robert Stotts, Robert Hoelscher, Joe Chamberlain and Kyle Krennerich Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Lasting memorials may be made to the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net

    Dear Stotts/Stephens family:I knew Wanda when I moved fromJ'boro to T'mann in 1965. She's beena lifelong friend, a fellow class mate. We cheered many sport sgames together and just had a good time. Wanda was a bright light that has moved on to the brighter light.     I taught your mother in high school. Then she did her practiceteaching under me. Followinggraduation from college, she and Itaught together. Her mother taught my sister at Shady Grove in the 1940's. My parents and her parents were friends from thelate 20's so we have a lot of history together. I thoroughly enjoyed her. She was so kind andsweet to me. I am in poor healthnow. I am battling lung cancerbut am doing good. Give my love to the family.

    I,m so sad to hear about Wanda! I have fond memories of our time in school together and watching her as a cheerleader. She dated my good friend Hilton Hurdle during our High School days and I double dated with them. We had lots of fun and laughs and going to the Drive-in Movies in Jonesboro.
