  4. Dr. Mark Brown, Jonesboro, Arkansas says

My father, Gene Brown, considered Harold a very close friend. Dad had great respect for Harold, and talked about him often. He respected his Christianity, and his devotion to his family, his country, and his job.I saw Mr. Allen many times at the Post Office when I was young, and I will always remember his smile. He always seemed to be in a good mood. The last time I saw him was at the nursing home when he came to visit my father. Even though his own health was failing, his friendship with my dad and his sense of duty enabled him to come and visit his friend. I appreciate Mr. Allen's service to our country during WWII. Anytime I hear something about "The Greatest Generation," I think of men like Harold and Gene. I feel honored to have known Mr. Allen.
