Doris Virginia Shelton

Mrs. Doris Virginia Shelton of Trumann died Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 28 days. She was born Wednesday, September 29, 1920 in Jonesboro, Ark. to the late William and Mable Clara Witt Knott. Mrs. Shelton lived in Trumann since 1947, was a housewife and owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Trumann with her husband for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann. Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Shelton, Sr. in 1988; one son, John R. "Johnny" Shelton,Jr. in 1966 and her parents. She is survived by her nephew, William Richard (Charlotte) Shelton of Fenton, Mo.; one niece, Cindy (Michael) Mueller of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Funeral service will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. John Blackford officiating. Burial will be private in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
