Mary Irene Ray Toone
January 27, 1925 - May 10, 2013

Mrs. Mary Irene Toone, 88 of Trumann died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Three Rivers Nursing Center in Marked Tree, Ark., at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 13 days. Mrs. Toone was born Tuesday, January 27, 1925 in Waynesboro, Tenn., and had lived in Trumann since 1988 amd was formerly of Illinois and Missouri. She was a security guard for AT&T Teletype in Illinois and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Trumann. Mrs. Toone was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Toone; one son, Larry Toone; Grandson, Bryan Toone; one sister; three brothers and her parents, Walter and Lillian Mae Lowery Ray. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Schnepf (Robert) and Kelly Thorn (Tommy) both of Trumann; daughter-in-law, Patsy Toone of Trumann; one son, Dan Toone (Sandy) of Swartz Creek, Mich.; one sister, Vera West of Russellville, Ark.; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Austin Missey officiating. Burial will follow in the Willis Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark.Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    My thoughts are with the Toone family. So often we see our loved ones die and wonder why. But when read Romans 5:12 the apostle Paul under inspiration wrote."that is why, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death because of the sin spread to all men because the had all sinned." But one man (Jesus) died so we could have everlasting life so he bought back what Adam lost for us everlasting life. In John 5:28 Jesus said "the hour is coming in which all those in the graves will hear my voice and come out." No wonder in Psalms 37:29 we read the words "the meek will inherit the earth and will dwell forever upon it."

    Praying for your comfort! She was a remarkable woman who's love for our Lord was not just word's it was a way of life that was an example to all who knew & loved her. She could tell a story like no other and always make me laugh. I can just hear Jesus say "Well done my servant " Welcome home !!

    I've know Irene nearly my entire life and grew up with her older children. You will never meet a more loving and giving person and I feel very honored to have known her. My sympathy goes out to her children and grandchildren. I know she loved you all.
