Gregory Scott Straver
December 30, 1963 - November 28, 2014

Mr. Gregory Scott Straver of Kankakee, IL, died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the family residence at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 29 days. He was born Monday, December 30, 1963 in Trumann, AR, and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann before moving to Kankakee 6 months ago. Mr. Straver was an electrican with Dubak Electrical Maintenance and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by one son and four grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Terrye Straver of the home; two sons, Laker Moye of the home and Jerod Straver and his wife, Erica of Jonesboro; one step-daughter, Lindsay Ainsworth of Dayton, OH, one grandson, Ian Straver of Jonesboro, his mother and step-father Barbara and Frank Jones of Batesville, his father and step-mother Thomas and Melba Straver of Trumann; one brother, Greg Hodges of St. Louis, MO; four sisters, Shellie Moore of Thayer, MO, Renee Prince of Harrisburg, Kerri Tankersley and Tami Brooks both of Cahokia, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at First Assembly of God in Trumann with Dale Taber officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Secrease, Carl Long, Dave Foster, Steve Foster, Chris Smith and Ronnie Jones. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An on online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    Uncle Tom, Aunt Melba and family.....So sorry I could not be there with family today. I love you guys and you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Scotty Wayne (as I've always heard him called by Uncle Tom) left us way too soon. Always smiling.....that's what I remember the most.

He was in the youth department with my children, Jenifer Prichard Mott and Lorrie Prichard Patterson. He was a very good young man.
