Mr. Billy Joe Sharp of Harrisburg died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Manila Nursing Home in Manila, AR at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 5 days. Mr. Sharp was born Sunday, December 29, 1935 in Savannah, TN and had lived most of his lifetime in Harrisburg. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Nettleton Masonic Lodge #657 and was a former member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge #693 and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sharp, one brother, William Leon Sharp; two sisters, Lena May Martin and Mourine Bethune; and his parents, Joe Sidney and Linnie Pearl Shepard Sharp. Survivors include one daughter; Sabrina and husband John Ryan of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Rachel Nicole Ryan and Hayden John Michael Ryan; and three sisters, Virginia Neil Champion of Wynne, AR, Joyce Hogan of Trumann, AR, and LeAnn Williams of Round Rock, TX. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, AR with Rev. Jeff Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, AR. Pallbearers will be Hayden Ryan, John Roberts, Stan Whitt, Ben Rouse, Jimmy Champion, Jason Wilson, Jordan Caughron and Nathan Champion. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, AR. An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    So sorry we couldn't be there with y'all. Bill & Wanda was our lifelong close friends. We have enjoyed them since we were young and followed from California Texas then back to Arkansas. Best friends forever. We would be there if we were not in Rio a Grand Valley. Sabrina you know our love and sympathy is with you at this time. God bless you and your family. We love you.
