Harry Edward Vredingburgh
May 29, 1938 - June 1, 2026

Harry Edward Vredingburgh, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, dedication, and deep love for family. Born on May 29, 1938, in Elkhart, Indiana, Harry lived a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and enduring curiosity. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, reflecting a lifelong commitment to duty and integrity. On January 31, 1958, he married Elizabeth Rains Vredingburgh. Together they shared many years of marriage until Elizabeth’s passing on February 16, 2026. Their partnership was a steadfast foundation for their family. Harry and Elizabeth were blessed with two sons, William Scott Vredingburgh and Brian Edward Vredingburgh. Brian preceded him in death in 1986. As a father, Harry instilled in his family the values of hard work, independence, and personal responsibility. For over 30 years, Harry worked at General Electric in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he built a career defined by reliability, skill, and teamwork. Outside of work, he found great joy in the outdoors and in working with his hands. A lifelong hobbyist, Harry pursued many interests with care and enthusiasm, including collecting coins and firearms, portrait painting, biblical research, and genealogy. His intellectual curiosity and craftsmanship enriched both his life and the lives of those around him. Harry was a faithful member of the Viva Drive Church of Christ in Trumann, Arkansas. He is survived by his son, William Scott Vredingburgh (and his wife Beth); his grandchildren, Chad Vredingburgh (and his wife Grace, great granddaughter Rosie Vredingburgh), Lily Vredingburgh (and her fiancé Justin), and Anna Vredingburgh-Taylor (and her husband Gavin); and his nephew, Kenny Vredingburgh (and his wife Tomi Jo). Harry will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man of quiet strength whose work, faith, and wide-ranging interests left a lasting impression. His legacy lives on in his family and in the many lives he touched. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 7th from 3:00 - 5:00 at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. 2. Mary Lee Brock Cunninghamm, JONESBORO says

I am saddened to read of Harry's passing. I have such fond memories of him and Elizabeth as I grew up attending Viva Dr. Church. He was a quiet man with a wealth of biblical knowledge. I enjoyed so much hearing him teach. This world's loss is heaven's gain, and now he is with his precious Elizabeth again. Condolences to Scott and all the extended family.
