Ward Edsel Kent of Trumann departed this life on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in Trumann at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 20 days. He was born Sunday, December 23,1934 in Cave City, AR to the late Noah and Cora Qualls Kent and lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was retired from Singer Company and a member of Crowley’s Ridge Beagle Club. Edsel loved raising beagles, rabbit hunting and watching wrestling. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 1 brother and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fannie Sanderson Kent of the home; three sons, Danny (Pat) Kent of Wister, OK, Dale (Melody) Kent of Trumann and Ronnie Kent of Trumann; four daughters, Diane (Barry) Chaffin of Austin, TX, Linda (Mark) Walters of Dalhart, TX, Kathy (Jimmy) Stotts of Trumann, and Angie Bradley of Fayetteville, TN; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, April 17th from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 in the chapel with Rev. Ricky Forbis officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. Pallbearers will be Barry Chaffin, Jr., Adam Stotts, Jason Chaffin, Johnathan Stotts, Mark Walters, Jr., Hunter Kent and Keaton Kent. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Liles and Chris Seacrease.
