Mildred "Midge" Vinson
July 2, 1933 - June 8, 2025

Mildred J “Midge” Sutterfield Vinson, of Trumann went to heaven June 8, 2025 at home at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 6 days.  She was born Sunday, July 2, 1933 in Harrisburg, AR to the late Robert F. and Lola Bell Price Sutterfield.  Midge was a hard worker outside of the home as well as a homemaker.  She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family, friends and social events.  She was an accomplished seamstress.  Later in life Midge took piano lessons and learned to play the piano quite well.  Midge loved her family and took great pride in all of her grandchildren.  She loved her church and was a faithful and dedicated member of First General Baptist Church of Trumann.             She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimp” Vinson; son, Mike Vinson; daughter, Donna Vinson Watson; granddaughter, Lesle Watson; brother, Robert F. Sutterfield, Jr. and sister, Robbie DeLoach.       She is survived by her son, Rick Vinson of Trumann; grandchildren, Brian (Karen) Vinson of Trumann; Jill Hammons of Trumann, Jason (Susan) Vinson of Fort Worth, TX, Nathaniel (Kristina) Vinson of Trumann, Jordan (Mary Katherine) Vinson of Hickory, NC and Dalton (Lacey) Watson of Midlothian, TX, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters, and two sisters, Bettie Cooper and Reba Pate.       Pallbearers will be her grandsons.       Visitation will be Friday, June 13th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 in the chapel with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    I loved my older sister, Midge, very much. We were not able to spend much time together because I moved to Texas. I remember when she was pregnant with her first child, Rick. She was actually working in the fields picking and chopping cotton. She is an amazing strong woman.
