Farrel W Roberts
July 16, 1942 - January 15, 2024

Farrel Woodson Roberts of Harrisburg went to be with Jesus Monday, January 15th at the family residence at the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 30 days.  He was born in Lilbourn, MO to the late Eugene and Bertha Smith Roberts Huckabay.  He graduated from Knobel High School and went to Nashville, TN Diesel Mechanic School. Upon graduation, he worked for dealerships in Corning before he started at ASU, where he graduated with an Engineer and Business Administration degree. He was a member of Lamba  Chi Fraternity. While living in Jonesboro, he was active in the University Heights Lions Club serving as secretary from 1976 to 1978. He worked at Walker Manufacturing, leaving to start his own manufacturing facility, Pine Grove Wood Products, manufacturing roof and floor trusses. He was the owner/operator until retirement at age 70. He was a furniture builder and craftsman. Parkview Baptist Church has a lot of beautiful things in it created by him.  He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, David Huckabay, and maternal and paternal grandparents.       He is survived by his wife, Linda Doty Roberts of the home; sister Jeanette (J.B.) Huffmaster of Jonesboro; two step-sisters, Marcia Elizandro, Cathy Larkins and several nieces and nephews.       The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27th from 11:00 to 12:00 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home. A celebration of  Life will follow with ministers Robert (Bubba) Reese and Wayne Hillis officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, Jonesboro, AR.      Active Pallbearers will be: Jeff Spiegel, Nathan Tucker, Bobby Fletcher, Jeff Huffmaster, Sherman Drum, Mike Green, and Larry Jennings. Honorary Pallbearers are: Employees of Pine Grove Wood Products, Buddy Helton, Bobby Byrd, Tony Byrd, Sonny Fowler, and Donald Pratt.       Special thanks to his caregivers, Tracey, Kay, Eleanor, and Denna.       Lasting memorials may be made to: Parkview Missionary Baptist Church of Trumann,  P.O. box 1042, Trumann, AR 72472 and NEA Humane Society of Jonesboro.       Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net

    Farrel was a great Christian man who loved the Lord, his wife, family and friends. He was my favorite cousin; and as a toddler I wanted to grow up and marry him. Course, I would have had to fight my sister for him. He was an amazing person and I’ll forever treasure knowing him.
