Wendell H Rowlett
July 24, 1937 - January 7, 2024

Wendell Rowlett of Trumann passed away January 7, 2024 at the family residence at the age of  86 years, 5 months and 14 days. He was born July 24, 1937 in Trumann to the late Ernest Elmer Rowlett and Ida Kate Brown Rowlett. He was a 1957 graduate of Trumann High School and graduated from Arkansas State University  in 1963. He began his teaching career in Ellisnore, Mo., teaching there for many years then went to MISSCO school district for several years. He ended his teaching career at Hughes, AR where he retired as a math teacher.  He loved football, doing yard work and keeping his yard neat. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and 3 sisters.       He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peggy Rowlett of the home; a brother, Thomas Rowlett of West Memphis, AR; several nieces and nephews.       The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow with the Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial will be private. Online guest book can be signed  at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    There was/is not many individuals that had/have a heart as good as Mr. Rowlette! He saw that each student he helped had any of his time they wanted or needed. He never quit a student. I do not know anyone that helped as many students as he did with the caring joy & love in his heart. By far one of the greatest teachers I ever had the privilege of having in all of my education. He was an angle here on earth!
