Sandra J. McMahan of Jonesboro, passed away December 1, 2023 at the Southfork River Therapy and Living in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 80 years and 7 days. She was born November 24, 1943 in Trumann, AR to the late John Nathan Chaffin and Edna Bell Hammonds Chaffin. She was a 1961 graduate of Bay High School and Salutatorian of her class. She loved to read and garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Kirk McMahan Sr.; sister, Murliene McDaniel; three brothers, Junior Chaffin, Vance Chaffin and Jimmy Chaffin and her parents. She is survived by her son, Douglas Kirk (Anita) McMahan, Jr. of Nesbit, MS; two daughters, Kristi Miller of Jonesboro, AR, Melissa (Mitch) Wright of Cherokee Village, AR; sister, Betty Sue Gardner of Marked Tree, AR; seven grandchildren, Christopher Sparks, Jake Coburn, Emily and Allyson Yawn, Summer Martin, Drew and Desten Morgan; and six great-grand children, Noah Sparks, Macy and Lyla Martin, Everest and Meadow Morgan, and Caiden Bowman. Visitation will be Monday, December 4, 2023 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.
