Thomas Davis
May 4, 1942 - September 26, 2023

Thomas K. Davis of Trumann, passed peacefully from this life Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR at the age of  81 years, 4 months and 22 days.  He was born on May 4, 1942 in Imboden, AR to the late Terlie and Fredia Davis. Thomas and his wife Patsy lived in Trumann for the last 17 years. Before moving to Trumann, he was a resident of Imboden and then West Memphis, AR. Thomas was of the Baptist faith, a retired railroad clerk with Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked for 42 years. He was also a member of the TCU union. Known by those close to him as “Poppy”, his hobbies were cattle farming, tending to his yard and his gardens, watching football and basketball games, and spending time with his beloved wife, grandchildren and family. His connection to nature was evident in the care he showed to every animal and every plant placed under his watchful eye. The farm wasn’t just a place of work for Poppy, but a sanctuary of peace and contentment. What truly set Poppy apart was his kindness and patience. He had an uncanny ability to listen and offer a comforting presence to anyone in need. His friends and family could always count on him to be there with a reassuring smile and compassionate ear, and his enduring spirit made the world a better place. Poppy may have left this earthly realm, but his legacy of hard work, love, kindness and his deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will continue to inspire us all. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents;  former wives Sue Foley and Judy Steele. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Patsy, of 33 years, three daughters, Sherry (Jan) Morgan, Tammy (Joe) Kincaid, Misty Williams (C. Shawn Osborne), and eight grandchildren: Jordan Morgan, Paige (Blake) Eldridge, Sammie Jo Williams, Jana Kai Morgan, Maci Williams, Josh Kincaid and Sam Kincaid, and one great-grandchild, Owen Blake Eldridge.       The family will receive friends Saturday, September 30th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, AR. 1. Melanie Ruffin, Trumann, AR says

My thoughts and Prayers are with you Patsy and family. Thomas was a Spectacular specimen of a “True Gentleman”. He was also one of the kindest Souls, that I’ve had the pleasure to know. And he was an amazing man for You and your daughters and grandchildren. God Bless you

  2. Dana Speakmon, Wildwood, Florida says

I pray for God’s peace and grace to comfort Patsy and her family at this time of grief and always. I did not know Thomas as well as I would have liked to but he was always kind and respectful when I did have an opportunity to speak with him. He was obviously a good man, husband and father. He will be missed by all who knew him.

  3. Linda Sue Dompke, Brodhead, Wisconsin says
