Connie Sue Carter
October 3, 1953 - August 31, 2023

Connie Sue Carter of Trumann departed this life on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the family residence in Trumann, AR after a battle with gallbladder cancer at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 28 days. She was born to Lloyd Hendrix (Henry) Carter and Pauline England Carter on October 3, 1953. Connie had a heart for senior citizens and worked over 35 years as a home health aide. In 2008 she went to work at what she said was the best company ever, Absolute Care Management. To Connie, caring for her clients was more than just a job. She always went above and beyond for her clients, many times putting their needs before her own. Her clients could always count on her and it didn’t matter if there was snow and ice on the ground, no power in the town, or a tornado, she would walk to make sure her elderly and disabled clients received the care they needed. Connie was recognized as the 2014 Arkansas Senior Volunteer of the Year by the Arkansas Gerontological Society. Billboards with her face were seen all across the state from this honor. Connie also volunteered in the city of Trumann for special events and at the community Food Pantry. Even though her health became an issue and forced her to retire from active caregiving on December 31, 2020, it never stopped her from helping seniors receive services they needed nor promoting her community of Trumann and the ACMC/Grojean family. Connie had a passion for gardening and reading but especially for animals. Two special dogs, Spanky and Crickett, lived a long life filled with love with Connie. Her surviving dog, Zoey had been with her for 7 years. She would take Zoey to nursing homes and all around Trumann to share love and companionship. The family is so happy that Zoey has lovingly been adopted by San and Caroline Morgan. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Bonnie Jacobs, Joyce Moss, and Sherry Harkey. She is survived by her sister Pamela (Wendell) Pitcher of Paragould, AR; a brother Bill (Angie) Carter of Neustadt Aisch, Schauerheim, Germany; 9 nieces, 6 nephews, 8 great-nieces, and 10 great-nephews who will miss Connie’s love and advice. Connie will also be missed by many friends in Trumann and all over Arkansas. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 5th from 5:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Larry Loggins and Rev. Jeff Miles officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Willis Cemetery near Harrisburg, AR under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home. If you would like to give a gift in her name please send your donations to the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, 6111 E. Highland Dr, Jonesboro, AR 72401, the Trumann Public Library, C/O City of Trumann, 825 Hwy 463, Trumann, AR 72472 or the American Cancer Society. 1. Annette Pasco, Fresno, California says

I have never met Connie in person. Only thru Facebook did we become friends. I admired her love for Cricket & Zoey. I always read her posts and I can say this much. She was a total selfless individual. She gave from her heart with nothing expected in return. She gave and gave until she couldn't anymore. I will miss reading her posts and seeing pictures of Zoey who we all became to love. Your friend, Annette Pasco
