J.C. Holt of Trumann departed this life Tuesday, August 22nd at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro at the age of 89 years 2 months 27 days. He was born Saturday, May 26, 1934 in Lake City, AR to the late Jesse and Aliene Sims Holt and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. J.C. retired from Roach Manufacturing with over 60 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. J.C. loved hunting, fishing especially with his beagles and playing his guitar and harmonica. He was preceded in death by one son, Neal Holt; one sister, Jane Huss; three brothers, Harvey Holt, R.L. Holt and Mace Holt; and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nellie Watkins Holt of the home; one daughter, Kay (Ricky) Dobbins of Trumann; one son, Jeff (Tracy) Holt of Paragould, AR; 6 grandchildren, Tanner Holt, Lori Malone, Danielle Marshall, Richard Dobbins, Audrey Dobbins, and Sarah Wilson; and 9 great-grandchildren The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will follow at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Dobbins officiating. Committal service will be Friday morning at 10:30 in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. Active Pallbearers will be Richard Dobbins, Earnest Nichols, Terry Jones, Tanner Holt, Samuel Cabalero and Mike Roach, Sr. Memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 305 Bell St, Trumann, AR 72472.
