Mr. Edward Lee “Ed” Richardson of Trumann departed this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 8 days. He was born Friday, December 29, 1939 in Landis, AR., and had lived in Trumann since 1970. He was a retired elementary principal for the Trumann School District and a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann. He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and his parents, Ezra Coy and Delphia Massey Richardson. He is survived by his wife, of 55 years Lenora Cook Richardson of the home; four sons, Kenneth Richardson of Harrisburg, Dewain Richardson of Trumann, Michael Richardson of Houston, TX and Anthony (Tony) Richardson of Trumann; one brother, Robert Richardson of Booneville, AR; four sisters, Loretta Horton of Marshall, AR, Ida Mae Hale of Mountain View, AR., Racine Flores of Wichita, KS, and Louise Yates of Dallas, TX; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Trumann with Rev. John Maley officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the directions of Thompson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be his nephews and Jacob Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church and the Mens Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1301 Hwy 69, Trumann. The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 575 Trumann, AR 72472. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    Our sympathy goes out to the family of Ed. He and Mrs. Richardson were always so kind and considerate of my parents and Becky's parents. They visited them in the nursing home and hospital when they were sick. We will miss Ed.
