Charlie Hillis
June 4, 1951 - March 3, 2023

James Charles “Charlie” Hillis, Sr., departed this life on Friday, March 3rd at NEA Baptist in Jonesboro at the age of 71. He was born in Weona, Ark., and was a lifetime resident of the Trumann area. Mr. Hillis was a former employee of Columbia Forrest Products in Trumann and a member of the Christian Worship Center in Trumann. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Traci Diane Hillis; one step-son, Michael Williams; one sister; five brothers and was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Arlow Sanders Hillis. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rosie Lee Settlemire Hillis of the home; two daughters, Charlina (Billy) Reed of Trumann, Ark. And Amanda (Damien) Farris of Lerado, Ark.;  two sons, James Charles (Erin) Hillis, II of Fayetteville, Ark., and Delton (Mindie) Hillis of Trumann; five sisters, Pauline Johnson of Harrisburg, Barbara Cervenk of Chicago, Ill., Mary Stacy of Strawberry, Ark., Linda Herren of Trumann and Sharon Kaye McClure of Electra, TX.; six brothers, Jimmy Dale Hillis of Weona, Ark., Joe Hillis and Wayne Hillis of Trumann, Clarence Hillis and Frank Hillis of Harrison, Ark., and David Doyle Hillis of Marked Tree, Ark.; 6 grandchildren and three great-grand children The family will receive friends  on Tuesday, March 7th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Worship Center near Trumann. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tommy Jordan officiating.  Burial will follow at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be James Charles Hillis II, Billy Reed, Hunter Reed, Damien Farris, and Delton Hillis.       Online guest book can be signed  at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
