Betty Lou Davis
January 14, 1930 - September 28, 2022

Betty Lou Loggins Davis, 92, of Laurel, MS passed away  Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her residence.    She was born Tuesday, January 14, 1930 in Shady Grove, Arkansas to Coy and Lora Lois Osment Loggins.  Betty attended school in one and two room school houses.  She was a graduate of Central High School and Arkansas State University.  Betty also obtained her Master’s Degree from Southern Illinois University.  She married the love of her life on August 23, 1947, Ralph Ray Davis.  They had met each other in one of those little school rooms and spent sixty-five years of marriage together working hard to provide a Christian home for their family.      Betty retired from Cahokia Illinois School District as a Business Teacher.  She was an active member of her church and always opened up her home to guest.       Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ray Davis; her parents, Coy and Lois Loggins as well as two brothers, Hoyle and Bob Loggins.       She is survived by her children and their spouses, Glenna Ellen (David) McComb  of Laurel, MS, Ricky Hoyle (Cherri) Davis of Waterloo, IL, and Rhonda Gaye (Bruce) Smith of Twin Lake, MI; three sisters, Martha Sadler of Mansfield, TX, Kay Long of Trumann, AR, and Sammie (Jimmy) Layer of Jonesboro, AR; two brothers, Larry (Mary Lea) Loggins of Trumann, AR and Charles (Donna) Loggins of Harrisburg, AR; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3.5 great-great-grandchildren. The faimily will receive friends on Monday, October 3rd from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Brandon Wilson and Bro. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the church of your choice. In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is optional.     I remember aunt Betty. She was always very kind and. Onsiderate. She and uncle Ralph set the best examples for all of us to see and to hopefully learn from. Good lady , great mother, good friend to many and great life partner to my uncle Ralph. She is in a wonderful place , with no aches and pains.
