Finis Albert Whitaker,81, departed this life Saturday, June 25, 2022 at The Springs of Batesville Nursing Home in Batesville, AR.  He was born on September 16, 1940 in Baldwyn, Mississippi and lived in Batesville one and a half years and was formerly of Trumann.  He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by two sisters; four brothers and his parents Robert Nathanal and Gracie May Harris  Whitaker.     He is survived by three sons, Nathanal (Jackie) Whitaker of Jonesboro, Sam Whitaker of Paragould and Scott Whitaker of Trumann; one daughter, Sabrina (Terry) Luster of Newport; one sister, Vera Young of Trumann; two brothers, Boyce Whitaker of Trumann and Felix Whitaker of Brookland; one step-brother, Arnold Mullen of Grenada, MS; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 am at Thompson Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Bolivar Cemetery with Rev. Lonnie Baker officiating.   Burial will be under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.      Pallbearers will be Tim Whitaker, David Whitaker, Lonnie Whitaker, Donnie Whitaker, Tommy Whitaker, Daryl Armstrong, Pete Armstrong and Gregg Armstrong.      In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is optional and social distancing will be observed.     Finis was an excellent youth baseball coach who would pile a pack of us kids in his car and allow us to stay overnight with Scott & Sam. He was very tough but fair and pushed us to compete and be our very best. Prayers for peace and comfort for the family.
