Betty Louise Smith
May 24, 1943 - October 17, 2021

Betty L. Smith passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at  NEA Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 23 days.  She was born Monday, May 24, 1943 in McCormick and lived most of her life in Trumann.  Betty worked at Salant & Salant and American Greeting for several years and was of the Church of Christ faith.  Betty enjoyed cooking and crafting.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Lavern Baker and her parents, Amie Victory and Pauline Baker Collum.        Betty is survived by her husband of 54 years 11 months and 28 days Ted R. Smith of the home; two daughters, Sherrie (Lloyd) Jones of Trumann and Karrie (Dale) Taber of Marked Tree; two sisters, Wanda Collins of Salem and Diane Daniels of Searcy; one brother, Paul Collum; and three grandchildren, Logan Thomas, Ashton Jones and Payton Jones.       The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.  A Memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Bill Willard officiating.       In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines face masks is optional.     An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
