Doris Moon
October 28, 1932 - November 20, 2020

Vaughnry Doris Moon of Trumann departed this life on  Friday, November 20th at the family residence at the age of 88 years, and 23 days.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Trumann where she spent many years serving in the nursery. She was born Friday, October 28, 1932 to Lot Monroe (Jack) and Lorene Hogan.  She lived her entire life in the Bay and Trumann areas.  Doris was a 1950 graduate of Bay High School and up until the past few years would still recite many of her old high school cheers.  If you were from Bay then you were okay in her book.  After graduating high school, she worked many years in the office of the Singer Manufacturing plant.  She made lots of lifelong friends during her time there and could tell you most of their time card numbers. When she married James H. Moon, Sr., she dedicated her life to making a home for her husband and children.  She was the glue of our entire family.  Her wisdom was truly that of a Godly woman.  She had an uncanny ability to see the good in everyone and was more than willing to put needs of others above her own.  She got joy out of helping people.  One of her favorite sayings was “He Knows” referring to the Lord.  Well He knows that she was a wonderful mother, wife, friend, and role model for all of us. She was preceded in death by her parents; her Husband; two grandsons, James Harris Moon III and Justin West; two sisters, Lavern Stephens and Phyllis Ann Hogan; four brothers, Thad Hogan, Bill Hogan, Curtis Hogan, and Jack J Hogan. She is survived by two daughters, Jami Crouch (Jeff) of Harrisburg and Marilyn West (Bruce) of Trumann; three sons, James H. Moon, Jr. (Robbie) of Harrisburg, Bill Moon of Trumann, and Matt Moon (Amber) of Trumann; nine grandchildren, Darren Criss, Andria Owens (Earl), Sunny Allison Bennett (Daine), Weston Moon, Chelsea Condra, Cade Condra, Jared West, Gage Armstrong, and Grant Henry; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Haag (John); one brother, Gene Hogan (Auda Faye), and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Rick Tate, Claudia Rogers and the many dedicated healthcare workers from Clopton Clinic, home health and home hospice.  We would like to give a very special thank you to the caregivers who were there with mom for the past 8 years.  These ladies are all blessings who made a very difficult situation bearable.  They have become a part of our extended family and always will be.  Her current caregivers were Dawn Pate, Kim Wilson, Sandra Washington, Amy Roark, Earlene Smith, and Sandra Sandborn. A graveside celebration of life service will be Wednesday, November 25th at 2 pm at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be required along with face masks. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Trumann, PO Box 575, Trumann, AR  72472; or a charity of your choice. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
