Billy Wayne was born Monday, April 8, 1935 to Albert James and Mildred Christina Teague in the community of Shady Grove Arkansas. Bill Teague was a lifelong resident of Trumann Arkansas. Bill and Mary made so many friends that became like family, while working at their grocery store, Bill Teague’s Market. The grocery store was a staple of the Trumann landscape for many years. He would serve up his world-famous barbeque family pack with a smile and story. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he worshiped alongside his wife, family and friends for many years.       Billy was a community helper, if someone was in need, he would give them groceries, so they did not go hungry. I have so many good memories of this man. He was very kind and helpful to everyone. We live in Illinois now but when we came back to Trumann for any reason we always stopped at his store to visit .The last time I was in Trumann his store was closed and I stopped and just looked at it . Really miss this man. He would pick us up and take us to his store so my mom could shop . Great times back in the 60's. So sorry for your loss and Trumann's loss . Tabby ( Hitchcock ) Morphey

  2. Kent Keith, Fayetteville, AR says

There was never a time that I didn’t stop at the store when driving through Trumann. I’m 52 now and when in college my friends and I spent a lot of time helping Bill serve that famous BBQ. We did it for Judge Ryan events, people in need, Lions Club...you name it. Bill was generous to all that he knew. As young men, we never went hungry in Trumann and we never paid. Bill would not hear of us paying. He always wanted us to pull up a chair in the back and just talk. I think we all know that Bill served Jesus a little BBQ when he got there and told him a story like only Bill could do. He was one of my favorite people that I have ever met. I hope that many people can look back on his life and take a piece of his kindness and share it with others. Bill will be missed and God bless all of the family.
