Erma Sue Walton
June 8, 1944 - April 11, 2020

Mrs. Erma Sue Wyatt Walton of Trumann was called by her Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at the family residence at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 3 days.  She was born Thursday, June 8, 1944 in and was a lifetime resident of Trumann.  She graduated in 1962 from Trumann High School. On October 12, 1961, she married the love of her life, Bob Walton. Sue was a former bookkeeper for Patteson Gin, secretary for Farm Bureau, and Maple Grove Baptist Church, and was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro where she was ready to serve in different areas and on many committees.  She was a strong lady who was generous with her love and time. She loved to be outside, making her yard beautiful and cultivating her garden once she retired. Bunny cakes at Easter and red Velvet at Christmas were her specialties, and everyone  loved  the cinnamon  rolls she made year round. One of her greatest  rewards was seeing her children, great nieces and nephews, and her grandchildren wear clothing she made and smocked, especially at Easter. Sue “Gran” lived to love her family. Her brothers and their families were a joy to her, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. They always  knew Gran would be at their events cheering them on. She followed them from Arkansas to Branson to Florida and Washington DC to be a part of the special times in their lives. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herschel Wyatt, and her parents, Edmond “Pete” and Argie Elizabeth Eddington Wyatt.         She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Walton of the home; two sons, Derek Walton and wife Amanda of Harrisburg and Darin Walton and wife Leigh Ann of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Emily Walton, Jeremiah Walton, Jesse Walton, Leigh Kathryn Walton and Caroline Walton; one brother, Lonnie Wyatt and wife Tammy of Lepanto and several nieces and nephews.          In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral services for Mrs. Erma Sue Walton will be private on Tuesday with Dr. Archie Mason officiating.  Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.        Pallbearers will be Derek Walton, Darin Walton, Jeremiah Walton, Jesse Walton, Mike Clem and Paul Bingham.  Honorary pallbearers are McDonald life group of Central Baptist Church.          If you would like to reach out to the family you can sign Erma Sue’s guest book online at ww.thompsonfuneralhome.net
