Russell Warren Newell
April 27, 1946 - March 2, 2020

Mr. Russell Newell of Trumann departed this life on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the family residence at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 4 days.  He was born Saturday, April 27, 1946 in Nettleton, AR and lived most of his lifetime in Trumann coming from Egypt, AR.  He was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the US Navy, a retired truck driver and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Wanda Broom Newell; one sister, Lavon McNabb and a great-granddaughter, Kylee Jade Henry. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rebecca “Becky” Bradford Newell; two daughters, Sandy (Barry) Bryant of Fayetteville, AR and Tonya (Danny) Hedge of Trumann; three sons, George Newell of North Little Rock, AR, Steven Henry of Williford, AR and Alex (Katelyn) Henry of Jonesboro, AR; one brother, Harvey (Kay) Newell; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.      A Celebration of Life will be Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Brian Sheppard officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.         Pallbearers will be Mike Crittendon, David Hammitt, Randy Hammitt, Ronnie Hammitt, Keith Battles, Eric Smith, and Zakk Dyer.         Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
