James E Taylor
May 12, 1929 - January 31, 2020

Mr. James E. Taylor of Trumann departed this life on Friday, January 31, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 19 days.  Mr. Taylor was born Sunday, May 12, 1929 in Prentiss County, Mississippi to the late Claud W. and Flora Pace Taylor and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a Korean War Army veteran, a retired Insurance Agent with Farmers Insurance and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.  James was a member of the Trumann Lions Club and a past member of the Trumann City Council.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, W. E. Taylor, Clyde Taylor and Billy Joe Taylor; and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Frances Henry Taylor; two sons, James Edward “Eddie” (Kari) Taylor, Jr. of Jonesboro, AR, and Gary Henry Taylor of Trumann; one sister, Martha Riech of Baldwin, MS; one brother, John D Taylor of Golden, MS; two grandchildren, Zachary and Matthew Taylor; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 to 12:00 noon at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann at 30893 Hatchie Coon Rd, Trumann, AR. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Larry Loggins and Rev. Paul Hale officiating.  Committal service will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye, AR at 1:30 p.m. Lasting memorials can be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 30893 Hatchie Coon Rd, Trumann, AR  72472.      An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
