Sylvester Herman Barnes
February 16, 1937 - October 28, 2019

Mr. Sylvester “Pop” Barnes of Trumann departed this life on Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. He was born in Tulot, AR and lived his lifetime in Trumann.  He was a sheet metal worker for Moon’s Appliance.  He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Barnes; three brothers, Gene Barnes, Murl Sutfin, and Melton Sutfin; and his parents, Herman and Myrtle Pick Barnes.       He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Conaster and husband Tony of Leachville, Sandra Flood of Trumann and Merideth Brooks and husband Eddie of Trumann; one son, Michael Barnes of Trumann; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren..       Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.         Pallbearers will be Donald Pratt, Wayne Chaffin, Roger Moon, Keith Ross, Archie Cooper and Kenny Stacks.  Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Spangler and Don Creecy.       A Celebration of Life will be Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Doke officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.           Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
