Mary Lou Karnes

Mary Lou Karnes of Trumann departed this life on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the family Residence in Trumann at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 2 days.  She was born Sunday, May 17, 1931 in Jonesboro, AR to the late Alfred and Stella Fulbright Johnson and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a sales associate for Wal-Mart and a member of the Viva Drive Church of Christ in Trumann.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Karnes, one sister, Jo Marley and her parents.       She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Jack) Green of Trumann, one son, Jimmy (Ann) Karnes of Trumann, two sisters, Glenda (Elbert) Carr and Phyllis Wooten both of Jonesboro, two brothers, Bobby (June) Johnson of Zion, AR, and Tony (Irene) Johnson of Little Rock. Five grandchildren, Dionne Haag, Dianna Ishmael, Parker Green, Jim Ed Karnes, Kari Karnes and 8 great-grandchildren.       Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Bill Willard and Joe Spangler officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR       Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.         Pallbearers will be  Jim Ed Karnes, Parker Green, Andrew Haag, Jackson Ishmael, Seth McDaniel and Jody Burrow       Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net

    Ms Mary was a part of my life while working at WalMart and I became close to her and a exchange student she had when I was in high school many years ago. She was a wonderful lady and always had a smile when greeted by her. My thoughts and prayers goes out to her family at this time.
