Thinking of your dad brings back lots of good memories of how much fun both our folks had in Lions Club and the traveling they did together. I was so sorry to hear you lost your dad. I can't imagine what that must be like. I was only four when your parents got married. They used to let me spend the night with them and use LB's t-shirt for a night-gown.Your parents were very special. My prayers are with you all. Love, Joy

  4. Stan and Sharon Cragg, Conway, Ar says

What a wonderful time to have grown up across the street from the Bakers household! L.B. Helped me break in my first baseball glove!! Now that I have Grandchildren, I have passed along that glove to my daughters' son. Everytime I see it, I always remember L.B. showing me how to soften up the leather so that I might catch the ball better. And, I've passed along that lesson to Garrett with his first ball glove. Always giving and helping another person....that's L.B. Baker!!

  15. Rick Carter, Jonesboro, Arkansas says

To Janelle, Brent, Brad and family: I have the fondest memories of all of the Baker Bunch from my days at Pancho's Restaurant in Jonesboro, 1976-1984. There was never a dull moment when LB and family came in. There were more pranks and laughs shared amoung the 'Trumannites' and it seemed LB was ALWAYS involved. I recall a guest check for about $19.00 floating around between LB, Dr. Smith, Dennis Morgan, Loretta Forrester, and several people that I did not know. The check kept getting passed from person-to-person, party-to-party and the dang thing never did get settled. It got started with LB and to this day, I think that Dr. Smith believes that he owes that bill but he simply refuses to pay it. He always said that LB was not above sticking him with the guest check. Oh my...a heartly laugh every time he came in. It was always a joy and a delight to see and visit with LB. The good deeds that he did through his Lions Club work will continue to make life easier for others. Family, have peace knowing that LB is again with his beloved Jimmie Doris and that all is well. It was a life lived to the very fullest. If it were possible to squeeze a 25th hour out of a day, LB would have done it helping others and having fun. God bless you all, and thanks for sharing your dad with me through the years. Rick and Diane Carter.
