I knew LB I guess like many people did at the hardware store. My mother Bobbie G. Briggman knew him too. I think she knew him when she worked at Singer. I know the Lions sponsered my scout troop too(58). God bless LB..
David called us and told us about losing your dad. Our thoughts are with you. Thinking of your dad brings back lots of good memories of how much fun both our folks had in Lions Club and the traveling they did together. Your dad made such an important contribution to Lions Club and to the community. Know that his spirit is a comfort to you now. Charles and Sue
I was so sorry to hear you lost your dad. I can't imagine what that must be like. I was only four when your parents got married. They used to let me spend the night with them and use LB's t-shirt for a night-gown.Your parents were very special. My prayers are with you all. Love, Joy
What a wonderful time to have grown up across the street from the Bakers household! L.B. Helped me break in my first baseball glove!! Now that I have Grandchildren, I have passed along that glove to my daughters' son. Everytime I see it, I always remember L.B. showing me how to soften up the leather so that I might catch the ball better. And, I've passed along that lesson to Garrett with his first ball glove. Always giving and helping another person....that's L.B. Baker!!
Janelle, Brad, and Brent - Please accept our sincere sympathy. We have you in our prayers.Glenda and I first became friends with L.B. and Jimmie Doris in 1979 when we were elected Distict Governors for the Lions of Arkansas. L.B. of course from NE, and I from NW Arkansas. Over the years, attending state and International Conventions we established a friendship that lasted for may years. Great times were had. We became friends with many folks from Truman, and will always cherish the fond memories.Your parents were very special people, always doing special things, mostly for those less fortunate than we were. You can be very proud of them. I am sure they are enjoying being reunited in Heaven.God Bless all of you.Gerald and Glenda Carr
L.B. was a long time friend of my mother and dad, Wanda and Terrell Young. I am very sorry to learn of his passing. He was a wonderful man and an asset to the community.Sincerely,Teri Young Borton
Brad, Janelle and Brent: Your dad will always be remembered for all the good deeds he did, for all the lives he touched and for all his accomplishments. He will truly be missed by all who ever had the opportunity to meet him. Your families will be remembered in our prayers. God Bless.
To Janelle, Brent, Brad and family: I have the fondest memories of all of the Baker Bunch from my days at Pancho's Restaurant in Jonesboro, 1976-1984. There was never a dull moment when LB and family came in. There were more pranks and laughs shared amoung the 'Trumannites' and it seemed LB was ALWAYS involved. I recall a guest check for about $19.00 floating around between LB, Dr. Smith, Dennis Morgan, Loretta Forrester, and several people that I did not know. The check kept getting passed from person-to-person, party-to-party and the dang thing never did get settled. It got started with LB and to this day, I think that Dr. Smith believes that he owes that bill but he simply refuses to pay it. He always said that LB was not above sticking him with the guest check. Oh my...a heartly laugh every time he came in. It was always a joy and a delight to see and visit with LB. The good deeds that he did through his Lions Club work will continue to make life easier for others. Family, have peace knowing that LB is again with his beloved Jimmie Doris and that all is well. It was a life lived to the very fullest. If it were possible to squeeze a 25th hour out of a day, LB would have done it helping others and having fun. God bless you all, and thanks for sharing your dad with me through the years. Rick and Diane Carter.
LB was a good person, My sympathies to the family.
