Mrs. Evelynn Jones Higdon was born Saturday, October 16, 1920 in Webster County, Miss., the daughter of the late Garfield Otis and Bertha Lee Holliman Hood. Mrs. Higdon died Thursday, August 3rd at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis, Ark., at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 18 days. She lived most of her lifetime in Trumann, was a former employee of the City of Trumann; a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, William

    Dear Susan, I am just now reading the paper for Aug 9, 2006 and just saw that your mother passed away. Dennis & I have been going to the lake a lot this summer and I am just know getting caught up on things. I am truly sorry. We lost mother March 16, this year and it has been real hard.     I am deeply saddened by Evelyn's passing. She was always very kind and thoughtful towards me. She was a lady in every sense of the word and I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this time. I can relate to your grief since I lost my mom around this time last year.May God Bless you all in this time of sorrow.
