Gary Wayne Hicks
November 3, 1950 - September 3, 2006

Mr. Gary Wayne Hicks was born on Friday, November 3, 1950, son of the late Luther and Naoma Mae McElyea Hicks. Mr. Hicks died Sunday, Sept. 3rd at Woodbriar Nursing Center in Harrisburg, Ark., from injuries received in an automobile accident in February of this year at the age of 55. He was born in the Weona community near Trumann and had lived most of his lifetime in the Harrisburg and Trumann area. He was a machine specialist for American Greetings in Osceola and of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Ann Hicks and Linda Gail Holmes and his parents. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife of 34 years, Julie Ballard Hicks of the home; two daughters, Diana Lindsey of Harrisburg and Kellie Hicks of Tupelo, Miss.; one sister, Jolene Perryman of Simmesport, La.; one brother, Charles Hicks of Trumann; 3 grandchildren, Garrett Lindsey, Tiffanie Gregg and Jacob Hitt and 1 great-granddaughter, Kiyana Wilcox. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann with Rev. Rickey Forbis and Rev. Gene Loven officiating. Burial will follow in the Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree, Ark., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Pallbearers will be Charley Byrd, Blaine Hitt, Clay Jones, Joey Lindsey, Paul Lindsey and Chad Wilcox. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 at Calvary Pentecostal Church.
