Jimmy Ray Watkins
August 18, 1938 - December 4, 2006

Mr. Jimmy Ray Watkins was born on Thursday, August 18, 1938, the son of the late R.E. and Alice Terry Watkins. Mr. Watkins died Monday, December 4, 2006 at the family residence in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 68 years, 3 Months and 16 days. He was born in Trumann and lived most of his life in Trumann after moving back from Michigan City, Ind. He was past member of the Wheeling Eagles Wheelchair Basketball team, previously served as trustee of the First General Baptist Church where he was a member. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a son, Kevin Watkins of Trumann; four sisters, Billie Jean Eastin of Jonesboro and Suzette Stroud of Heber Springs, Ark., Nellie Holt of Trumann and Phyllis Staggs of Blytheville; one brother, Terry Watkins of Bono; and two grandchildren, Tyler Watkins and Daniel Watkins. Funeral service will be Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Al Ishmael, Steve Ishmael, Jeff Holt, Rodney Staggs, Ben Spiker and Joey Watkins Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Watkins. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann. Online guest book at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
