Mrs. Mary Dean BarkerMrs. Mary Dean Barker, 86 of Bay died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Craighead County Nursing Center in Jonesboro, Ark., Born in Guntersville, Ala., she had lived most of her lifetime in the Bay area. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Bay. Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson Barker, Jr., two sons, Jerry Barker and Dennis Barker and her parents, D.M. and Susie Murrell LaFarlett. She is survived by four daughters, Gaye Parish of Bay, Wanda Lamkin, Kathy Limpach and Linda Hogue all of Jonesboro; four sons, Billy Barker of Trumann, Richard Barker of Paragould, Donald Barker and John Barker both of Jonesboro; three sisters, Lee Jones of Rockford, Ill., Lillian George of Trumann and Ruth Riley of Detroit, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday afternoon May 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in the Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Ben Barker, Dustin Barker, Daniel Barker, Adam Hogue, Jason Cottingham and Brian Ellard. Visitation will be Friday May 25, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Bernard

    I was so sorry to hear about Mrs. Barker passing away. I haven't seen her in years but kept up with her through April and Ben. I always thought alot of her and your entire family. You all were extended family for Jason and I for many years and she was like a grandmother to us during that time. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Hey Guys,We were so sad to hear about Mrs. Barker. We didn't know until I read it in the paper just a few minutes ago. She was such a sweet lady.
