Mrs. Loretta Lee Swain of Jonesboro, Ark., departed this life Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Bernards Medical Center at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 8 days. She was born in Ozark, MO, and lived most of her lifetime in Jonesboro. She was a retired biology teacher after serving 30 years with the Trumann School District and of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lynn Swain Sr., and her parents, Leon & Beatrice Morrison Colbert.

    Jerry, I am so sorry you have lost your mom. She was a wonderful person and teacher. I took two years of biology, just to be in her class — I didn’t really like science, but she made it fun. I hope knowing she was loved and admired by many helps ease a bit of your pain.
