Dorothy Banks Conatser
August 5, 1918 - December 24, 2008

Mrs. Dorothy Banks Conatser was born on Monday, August 5, 1918, daughter of the late Lewis and Amanda Hardin Banks. Mrs. Conatser died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 90 years 4 months and 19 days. She was born in Smithville, Ark., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother; homemaker; past worthy matron of the Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Conatser was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. Conatser in 1996; one son, James Conatser; five sisters; one brother and her parents. Survivors include four daughters, Elaine (Jim) Isbell of Jonesboro; Patsy Bullock, Sharon (Bob) Vest and Rose (Bobby) Bradley all of Trumann; one son, Ken (Melody) Conatser of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Joann Conatser of Trumann; one sister, Maxine Mauzey of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Arlan Ray Banks of Kansas City, Kansas; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers and Dr. Jerry Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow in Potters Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Ark., with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers will be Brian Conatser, Bradley Isbell, Mark Vest, Waylon Bullock, Matt Conatser and Josh Bradley. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Conatser, Randy Conatser, Kelley Vest and Joey Conatser. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Highway 69 W in Trumann. The family would like to thank the Craighead Nursing Center for their excellent care.
