Mrs. Marie MeekerJONESBORO - Mrs. Marie Meeker 85, of Jonesboro died Friday, January 2, 2009 at the family residence. She was born in Athens, AL, and had lived in Jonesboro the past 48 years. She was the retired owner of Meekers Country Store, member of Northeast Ark. Bluegrass Assoc. and of the protestant belief. Mrs. Meeker was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Meeker, one daughter, Barbara Pipkin, one sister, Christine Thomas, three brothers, Edward Thomas, Bob Thomas and Jerry Thomas; and her parents Logan and Aileen Brock Thomas. Survivors included two daughters, Vivian Harpole and Jean Meeker both of Jonesboro; one sister, Almeda Meeker of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Carrie Fife, Earl Pipkin Jr, Amanda Hopkins, Daniel Harpole, Anthony Prine and Scotty Prine; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Fife and Gage Pipkin Funeral services will be Monday, January 5, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Jimmy Pagan officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Dr. Radius Baker, Ricky Turman, Dave Lynn, Kelly Klingensmith, Johnny Pagan and B. J. Glasco. Honorary pallbearers will include Earl Pipkin, Ronald Meeker, Charles Pendergraft, Earl Pipkin, Jr., Daniel Harpole, Anthony Prine, Scotty Prine, Gage Pipkin, Robert Fife and Mike Lynn. Visitation will be Sunday evening January 4, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
