Giles Lynn Childers

Giles Lynn Childers departed this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 8 days. He was born Monday, January 15, 1940 in Cherry Valley and lived his life in Arkansas, Illinois and Arizona. He worked at various positions including being a pastor, a carpenter, part owner of Southgate Sun and Snow and in sales. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Dewey (Ruby) Childers, Joe Childers, Don (Pam) Childers, and one sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Childers Canter and his parents, Robert Veto and Agnes “Pauline” Banton Childers. He is survived by his wife, Sherri Childers of Paragould; three sons, Giles Lynn (Deondra) Childers Jr. of Jonesboro, Jarrod Lee (Michelle) Childers of Jonesboro, Erick (Phyllis) Moon of Gilbert AZ; one sister Betty (Jerry) Holt of Brookport, IL. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The family will hold a memorial service on Thursday, May 9th,1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of New Haven Baptist Church, (2610 Barnhill Rd. Paragould AR, 72450) with Rev. Howard Huddle officiating. Following the service, friends and family are welcome to gather at Juniper Tree Meadery (2112 AR 358, Paragould AR, 72450) for snacks and fellowship.
